  1. This directory contains the programs which accompany Gerald Fitton's
  2. 'Pipeline' column.
  3.  
  4. This has changed names a couple of times to reflect the fact that
  5. Pipedream has now become Resultz, Fioreworkz, etc, and it's currently
  6. called 'Gerald's Column'. It was originally intended to deal with
  7. Pipedream, but most of the contents can be applied to other
  8. spreadsheets, and a lot is of general interest.
  9.  
  10. As well as material directly relating to the magazine column there are
  11. frequently example spreadsheet and text files on the disc, often sent in
  12. by readers. These are all collected together here for your convenience,
  13. as well as appearing in their correct place on each monthly disc
  14.  
  15. There is also some introductory material from Abacus Training. This
  16. company runs 'user groups' for Colton Software's programs (and have just
  17. introduced a similar service for Impression) and publishes newsletters
  18. on disc. The Abacus introductory disc for Pipeline, Z-line and I-Line
  19. which deal with Pipedream, Fireworkz/Resultz/Wordz and Impression
  20. respectively are also supplied in the directory ABACUS.

  22. Because you may not actually have one of these packages we have also,
  23. with the permission of Colton Software, included the 'demo' versions of
  24. Pipedream 4, Wordz, Resultz, Fireworkz and Fireworkz Pro. These will
  25. enable you to load and examine all of the example files. These 'demo'
  26. versions are 'fully functional', but you can't Print or Save, and there
  27. are no spelling checkers. If you do use another spreadsheet program this
  28. will enable you to load the example files and, perhaps, translate the
  29. methods used to your own package.
